Supply of Components
Although most components essential to the Company’s business are generally available from multiple sources, a number of components are currently obtained from single or limited sources, which subjects the Company to significant supply and pricing risks. Many components are at times subject to industry-wide shortages and significant commodity pricing fluctuations. In addition, the Company has entered into various agreements for the supply of components; however there can be no guarantee that the Company will be able to extend or renew these agreements on similar terms, or at all. Therefore, the Company remains subject to significant risks of supply shortages and price increases that can materially adversely affect its financial condition and operating results.

One shortage in components could cripple Apple almost overnight. From upset customers to eroding cash, lack of supply is as this report puts is able to 'materially adversely affect its financial condition and operating result'.
130B in cash is a lot, IF you are still making money. With the global issues we face I could see supply issues bringing Apple to its knees.

Just finished reading this:

OMFG.  It was more a mental / disciplinary exercise than any sort of learning experience.  The first half of the book was about generalities and stocks, so that was easy enough to take in.  Then it got into mergers and I was left pretty much behind.  Finally, the last fourth of the book was on accounting.

The thing about my interest question was because there was a ratio that read:

Interest Payments divided by Operating Income

This basically tells you how leveraged the company is, and how effectively they are using their loaned capital.

Apple has no interest payments because it is a mature company and that is a metric used to measure growth companies.

Also, apple has 130B in cash...holy balls. Honestly I dont think they know what direction they are taking the company because they literally investing their money in stock instead of investing it internally.

The think about annual reports is that the financials are "massaged" by the management to project a certain outcome. For example, they will delay or accelerate revenue in order to keep rev growth constant/in line with plan.

Brandon Marshall - WR - Bears
New York City police will not bring charges against Brandon Marshall for his role in an early March nightclub brawl, according to attorney Harvey Steinberg.
Considering Marshall 's history of violence against women, the Harlem victim must have had an awfully weak case. Marshall allegedly "cold-cocked" Christin Myles , a former basketball player at San Diego State University, after his wife was hit in the face by a thrown bottle. Marshall and the Bears have been confident all along that his name would be cleared. He should be in no danger of NFL discipline now that police have opted against charges.

LeSean McCoy - RB - Eagles
Eagles signed LeSean McCoy to a five-year, $45 million extension, including $20.765 million guaranteed.
The Eagles continue to succeed at locking up young talent. McCoy fell just shy of Arian Foster , who landed $22.5 million in his five-year deal. With one year left on his rookie contract, McCoy is now locked up through the 2017 season as the feature back in Andy Reid 's offense. Yet to turn 24 years old, McCoy is vying with Calvin Johnson and Aaron Rodgers as the most valuable Dynasty league assets. A worthy successor to Brian Westbrook, McCoy has averaged 1,648 scrimmage yards and 14.5 touchdowns per in two seasons as a starter.

Here's my understanding of the law system:

The defendant is the assumed innocent, which means Vilma has to prove that Gooddell's accusations were false.  Correct?  If Gooddell had to prove the accusations were true, then Gooddell would being, in effect, forced to prove his own innocence.  Which a defendant isnt supposed to have to do.

Jonathan Vilma - LB - Saints
Suspended Saints MLB Jonathan Vilma is suing commissioner Roger Goodell for defamation of character.
Vilma 's complaint charges Goodell with making public statements concerning the linebacker which were "false, defamatory and injurious to Vilma 's professional and personal reputation." The suit also claims Goodell failed to turn over evidence. The NFL's investigation announced that Vilma , as captain of the defense, aided coordinator Greg Williams in establishing and funding the team's infamous bounty program. Vilma's suit won't help his chances of playing in 2012.
