I pulled the trigger on a trade offered to me, received S. Greene and gave R. Moss.
See league info in my sig.
Moss cost me $9 but being it was the last year of his contract, he would have cost me $12 had I extended him 3 years.
I got Greene for a salary of $7 and this year will be the 2nd year of his contract.
My keepers as of now are:
Rapelesberger
Stafford
Freeman
MJD
Greene
Charles
D. Brown
Harvin
Breaston
Celek
Keller
Vinetari

My logic behind the trade goes like this:
1. There are a ton of teams with a lot of money to spend on draft day and are weak at rb. I know for a fact there is one owner who is going to GET both Mathews and Best because those are the guys he wants and he has in the neighborhood of $60 to spend on draft day. That being said, I wanted no part in the war of the rb since I would not have enough money to get either of those two guys. I would have had a glimmer of a chance at getting Tate, but again, I don't want to spend a ton of money on unproven talent.
2. As I sit right now, I have $31 to spend vs. what would have been for $26 had I not traded Moss. That gives me a little bit more to spend on 2 guys. I know my wr's could use a ton of help at this point but I am set at rb for years to come assuming at least one of Greene, Charles or Brown pan out.
3. WR is a much easier position to fill vs. rb. The way I figure it, and I would like to hear your thoughts on this, there are obviously the rookies that I could go after along with S. Smith (CAR). The reason I am singling out Smith is because he is the only "upper echelon" wr who MIGHT be dropped this year and put back into the draft. His salary at this point is $22 and would need to be extended. His owner's salary cap is at $124 right now so he is going to need to get rid of some baggage. I am thinking about offering him a trade for multiple draft picks at this point, and if he takes it, I will only need to fill one roster spot with $2 (assuming I decide to extend Smith 3 years).
So, I guess, rate this trade and let me know if you can think of anything I could do to improve my WR corps without digging too deeply into the RB depth I finally have.
One other possibility I have is trying to trade Greene right away (possibly plus a draft pick) for JStew & Megatron.
Thanks in advance.

Seems like you've analyzed it pretty thoroughly. Moss will be on the decline while Greene will be an elite back, barring injury of course. Injury would have to be your only concern. I would have made that trade. So if you're looking for reaffirmation you've got it!
(love Megatron over the next 7 years vs Greene. it depends how far into the future you want to go) But if you can win this year, hold onto Greene.

Steve Smith is good, bor that price you could probably get two pretty good WR's. After Smith who else is available? What sort of WR's. I mean if you know you can get two "middle of the pack" guys, Why wouldn't you?

WR's who should be dropped and put in the draft and what they are currently owned for:
Steve Smith CAR - 22
Ocho (maybe) - 22
T.O. - 15
Sims-Walker - FA - I have no clue why he is not on a roster and is someone I'm shooting for if I can't pull off a trade.
That's pretty much it for the top 30 WR's other than the rookies.
So yeah, I could probably get two more middle of the pack WR's to go along with the two middle of the pack WR's I already have. My problem is getting my hands on a WR1 without giving up any of my RB's. I have the money to over-pay for WR1 (S. Smith/Ocho) or get a couple guys like Sims-Walker & Dez Bryant. I wouldn't mind doing that buy I would rather have a guy on my roster who should produce from week 1 on, no matter how much I have to pay.

Right on. Megatron should be a stud and I am undecided about Greene. If I can make a trade for Megatron & JStew for Greene & a couple draft picks, I'm going to do it but I'm not going to trade Greene straight up for Megatron, I would have been better off keeping Moss than doing that, considering Moss would have cost me $12 and Megatron would cost me $17. I really like JStew this year and in the future since DWill will probably be gone after this season.
Thanks for the responses on such a complicated post....+1.

I would rather have JStew and Calvin if you can get them for Greene. My reasoning is, Greene has a lot of value at this point and with the way he runs he may have one maybe two solid years... He runs hard and looks for contact just like Barber and Jacobs, running like that doesn't last long in the NFL and he has a better chance getting injured quickly. I only like Greene for this year.
JStew will be the guy next year but I also like him this year since Carolina will run DWill to the ground this year while still getting JStew his touches (keep him fresh and ready to go for the latter part of the season). One thing to watch out is, next year Carolina will probably pick up another RB (via trade, FA, or the draft) since it is well known they will always have a two RB system (that is their philosophy).
Megatron should blow up this year and his offense may have something special for years to come. He has all the talent in the world and finally now has other weapons surrounding him... I love the potential for him the next 3-4 years. This year is the year to get him since you may be buying low and it may be the easiest year to get another owner to separate from him.
